The Role:
The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that MAS operates within the state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the company’s different lines of business. This role serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and collaborates with legal counsel, operations, and other stakeholders to effectively address compliance and licensing issues.  The Compliance Manager is responsible for implementing policies and procedures, developing training programs, and auditing/monitoring compliance related matters, and serves as the company’s HIPAA Privacy and Security officer. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days a week in our Manchester, NH office.
As the Compliance Manager, you will have responsibility for:
Regulatory Compliance Management
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing home healthcare agencies.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to uphold quality standards and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies to ensure ongoing compliance and accreditation.
  • Ensure corrective actions are adequate and have been implemented for all identified compliance deficiencies.
  • Ensure company billing programs are in compliance with federal and state law and are designed to prevent, detect, and correct any associated fraud, waste and/or abuse.
  • Ensure that the Board of Directors, management, and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies.

Licensing and Certification
  • Manage process of obtaining and renewing required state, federal, and local licenses, and certifications
  • Collaborate with relevant authorities to address licensing and certification issues promptly.
Policy
  • Work closely with leadership to develop, implement, and update compliance-related policies.
  • Communicate policy changes effectively to ensure understanding and implementation.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Comply with all state, federal, and local reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation systems and processes as needed to track, trend, and manage compliance notifications, issues, corrective action plans, audit results, etc.
Audit and Monitoring
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of potential non-compliance and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Coordinate external audits and respond to regulatory inquiries, ensuring the company’s preparedness for inspections.

In this position, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other relevant compliance standards
  • Certified Healthcare Compliance strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles within the healthcare industry, including identifying and mitigating compliance risks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
